Your Bio

Welcome to danoramas.com, a portfolio of my best panoramic images. The work you see here is the result of a multi-decade quest to create photo-based depictions of the world that better convey the feeling of a place and the way we really see it.

Healthy human eyes see with a very wide field of view, sharp focus, and the ability to perceive an amazing range of color and contrast. Traditional photography can be rather limiting in these regards, but my background in 3D graphics has helped me find the optimal mix of camera equipment, software, and settings to bust through these limitations.

Specifically, I've devised a unique image-making methodology that starts with what I call "XYZ" photography: For each scene, I shoot multiple overlapping views both horizontally (X) and vertically (Y), and every time I press the shutter I capture three exposures "deep" (Z) from dark to light. Then, back in my studio, I stitch and blend together dozens of individual photographs per scene using a custom software workflow that results in these ultra-high resolution immersive images.

Most images on this site are available for purchase as ready-to-hang, float-mounted MetalPrints. The combination of that product with this photographic technique is stunningly gorgeous and will stop your visitors in their tracks!

Browse my danoramas in the Real World gallery to see how these prints physically look and where you can see (and buy) them. These prints are also easily ordered online by clicking on the "Buy" button found above every image.

On a custom basis, I also offer considerably larger prints and backlit displays for installation in hotels, restaurants, corporate lobbies, and private residences. If interested, click on the "Contact" button (found at the bottom of every page) to send me a private message.

Have a look around and return often to see my latest additions. You can also follow my work on Facebook, Twitter, or Google+ by clicking on the icons at the bottom of every page. Enjoy!
